Drivers in Linden crash get $60,000 bail each

Magistrate Ann McLennan granted two drivers involved in a recent accident on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway $60,000 bail each when they on Tuesday appeared in court.

Junior St Jules, 25, of 3338 Home Place, South Ruimveldt Park and Lawrence Simon 3, of 90 Accabra Drive, Kara Kara, Mackenzie, Linden both pleaded not guilty to the charge of driving in a manner dangerous to the public.
The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday near the Adventure Public Road along the Soesdyke Highway.
St Jules told the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court that he was driving motor car PLL 1453 when he collided with motor car PKK 8968 which was being driven by Geo-Technical Engineer attached to the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission Lawrence Simon. He said Simon made a sudden U turn which resulted in him crashing into the back of Simon’s car.

No one was hurt in the collision but both cars sustained extensive damage.
Both men were granted bail though the police prosecution did not attend court.
They were ordered to return to court on September 29.
