Sol Guyana Inc. has donated 30 branded garbage bins to the Young Leaders of Guyana youth group for its clean-up campaign.
According to a press release, the donation of the bins, which are for distribution to residents in the community, is to support the second phase of the campaign. President of the group Milton Smith said that the Young Leaders group is pleased to get phase two underway with the help of Sol Guyana Inc. The first phase of the campaign started in April.
In a simple ceremony last Thursday, general manager of Sol Ken Figaro presented the bins to Smith.
The Young Leaders group was established last year and has about 50 members between the ages 12 and 20 years old.
The group is involved in a number of activities that seek to build the self-esteem of youths in the area.
They have also distributed food hampers to the needy through the assistance of Food for the Poor (Guyana).
