The Mayor and City Council said 50% of desilting work in Agricola has been completed.
In a press release the council said it started work in the area two weeks ago and has completed desilting in Evans Phillips Park and Titus, Cato and Caesar streets.
The City Engineer’s Department carried out similar works in Lacytown, La Penitence, Stabroek, North and South Cummingsburg, Sheriff Street, Campbellville and Hadfield Street. This work was made possible through government’s initiative to provide enhancement works in the city.
Meanwhile, the council is appealing to citizens to desist from disposing of refuse in drains and canals.
