TT recovery predicted
Trinidad and Tobago Finance Minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira has said the country’s economy will recover next year.

In presenting the national budget to parliament, she said the economy was forecast to grow 2% after a projected contraction of 0.9% this year, largely the result of lower energy prices.

Nunez-Tesheira also confirmed plans to help Caribbean economies which have been harder hit by the downturn.

She identified Dominica as a partner in sourcing construction aggregate, such as sand and crushed stone.

The minister also outlined a project to maintain Trinidad’s coast guard vessels in St Vincent and commercial aircraft in Grenada.
