Boy,14, and two men on carnal knowledge charges in two separate incidents

A fourteen-year-old boy and a man, who allegedly had carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl, and another man, who had carnal knowledge of a girl when she was 13 years old, appeared yesterday before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

The teen and Mark Kingston were not required to plead to the indictable charge of carnal knowledge.

It is alleged that on September 7, they had carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl without her consent.

Their lawyer, Adrian Thompson applied for reasonable bail for them, stating that the teen lives in French Guiana but he was on vacation here. The magistrate subsequently ordered that the teen be kept in police custody while she ordered that Kingston be remanded to prison.

They will make another court appearance on September 21.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Ramnarine Dharry was also not required to plead to the indictable charge of carnal knowledge.

It is alleged that between November 1 and 13, 2007, at Great Diamond, East Bank Demerara, he had carnal knowledge of a girl who was 13 years old at the time.

Prosecutor Kevin London stated that after the incident Dharry fled the jurisdiction and was only caught recently when he came back to Guyana.

The magistrate subsequently ordered that Dharry be remanded to prison and that he appear back in court on September 18.
