The final match of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB)/Republic Bank under-17 inter zone cricket tournament is set for today at the Albion Community Centre ground.

The two teams are New Amsterdam/Canje and Lower Corentyne. Meanwhile, West Berbice defeated Upper Corentyne on first innings to clinch third place in the Berbice Cricket Board/Republic Bank under-17 inter-zone cricket tournament as they were led to victory by outstanding bowling from medium pacer Claude Marks’ 4-15 and off spinner Renalto Grovesnor 5-32 at the Area ‘H’ ground.

Batting first after winning the toss, Upper Corentyne were dismissed for 94 in their first innings with only Tyrone Edwards 17, Tarrick Chaitram 24 and Marvin Harvey 17 reaching double figures. Marks and Grovesnor were the outstanding bowlers for West Berbice while Grison Grant took 1-21. In reply West Berbice were in deep trouble at 44-5 before Devindra Lalsa (26) and Grovesnor, who completed a brilliant all-round performance with an aggressive 30 (2×4, 2×6), assisted them to 103 all-out.
