Not all customers like their SMS boxes filled with spam

Dear Editor,
I must commend the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company for all of their efforts in making their customers aware of the climate change and global warming situations through the use of text messages. In addition to the two aforementioned, in making the steps that Guyana and its government have taken and are taking to deal with the problems known.

However, I happen to be a text addict. Over the past few months ever since GTT has introduced the 99c per text message offer, my phone bill has never been less than twenty pages. This is due to the fact that they persist in listing every single text message, with the number, date and time.

I must say, that I think their efforts seem to be in vain, not only with regard to the amount of paper they use for the bills, but the ink as well.

Maybe the company should pay a little more attention to what they are doing. They should realize that not all their customers – if any – like their SMS inboxes to be filled with what we consider to be spam, since it is unwanted and unsolicited text.

Don’t get me wrong, I am very appreciative of their 99c per text message offer.
