Man threatened to kill his police officer wife

– court told
A man, who allegedly threatened to kill his wife who is a police officer, was yesterday granted bail in the sum of $30,000 when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Sharron Andrews Grant  pleaded not guilty to the charges of unlawful assault and threatening language.
He denied that on November 7, he unlawfully and maliciously assaulted his wife Sharron Kim Grant, a police officer. He also denied that on the same day he used threatening language towards her, thereby causing a breach of the peace.

The matter was called to the magistrate’s bench where a lengthy discussion ensued. The prosecution stated that Andrews Grant had threatened to kill his wife shortly after dealing her several blows about her body with his fist.

The prosecution  also noted that since both husband and wife have  the same names the police had to be careful in instituting the charges.
Andrews Grant is expected to make another court appearance on December 2.
