Repeat offender remanded over fashion store looting

Favourite pleaded not guilty to a break and enter and larceny charge which stated that between October 16 and 19, he broke into Triple ‘D’ Fashion and stole a quantity of cosmetics, a computer keyboard, a microwave and  a television set among several other items valued over $900,000.

Prosecutor Stephen Telford stated that at about 17:00 hours on October 16, the owner of Triple ‘D’ Fashion secured the premises and went home.

The owner returned on October 19 and discovered that the store was broken into and several items were missing.

Telford stated that the store owner then made a report to the police station and during an investigation into the matter the police learnt that Favourite and three other men were seen carting off the items from the store at about 4:00 hours on October 19.

The prosecutor stated that after Favourite was arrested, he denied that he was involved in the break-in but admitted that he knew about it.

The prosecutor also stated that Favourite was also implicated in a break-in at Guyana Stores.

Telford objected to Favourite’s bail application when he suggested it, on the grounds that if released the defendant may flee the jurisdiction.

He noted that Favourite had been charged with several other break-ins and that some of those matters are still pending against him in the court.

A tearful Favourite then lamented, “Ow ya worship I ain’t know about this break-in and I ain’t know about any other one……Ow please gimme a lil bail nah.”

The matter was then transferred to Court Three for November 24.
