Votorantim Metais, the company which will sign the project agreement for the Alutrint smelter, is the largest primary producer of aluminium in Brazil and is mainly focused on zinc and electrolytic nickel production in Latin America, the Ministry of Energy said in a statement on Thursday.
In business since 1955, the company produces alumina from bauxite to the manufacture of primary auminium to downstream products.
These products include ingots, billets, slabs, floor plates, coils, rods and bars.
