A 30-year-old Bartica man underwent surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) last evening after being stabbed in the stomach in the mining community yesterday.
A female companion was also slashed on her right arm during the same incident.
Augustus Rupa of Bartica and Onika Fredricks, 23, were both transferred to the GPH for treatment from the Bartica Hospital.
It could not be determined last evening if their attacker was arrested.
