A 48-year-old seaman accused of having carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old girl was granted bail when he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Terry Adol of 33 Bella Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara was not required to plead to the indictable charge of carnal knowledge and was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 by Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin.

It is alleged that last Wednesday at Bella Dam, Adol had carnal knowledge of the minor. A report was made to the police and following investigations, he was arrested and charged.

The court was informed that Adol is a seaman.

He was ordered to return to court on February 1 at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court.
