UWI Science students hope to link with UG on distance learning

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the aim of the visit was to have a firsthand glimpse of Guyana’s agriculture products, its research and development programmes and how UWI and the University of Guyana (UG) can work together to enhance distance learning.

The professor said that he is impressed with Guyana’s abundance of land and water. Braithwaite also noted the viability of the coconut industry.

“Guyana has significant potentials to provide food to Caricom. As was noticed during the five days that we are here there is an abundance of farming activities and the country is also known for its rich soil to produce,” Braithwaite said. He also said he was very pleased to see of the works of young scientists and researchers who have helped assiduously to maintain the stability and viability of the industry.
