Veteran vocalist walks away with Region Three melody crown

Veteran male vocalist Kamta Persaud emerged the winner of the Melody King Singing Competition held on Saturday at the Wales Community Centre Ground.

In a press release the Region Three Administration Office said Persaud won from a group of 11 contestants.  Ritesh Tualram came second while Sohan Persaud, Deonarine Persaud and Krishna Seeram came third, fourth and fifth respectively. The contestants were judged on a points system in four categories: Melody (40) Pronunciation (30) Timing (25) and Attire (5).

The contest was organised by the Region Three Mash Committee. The committee said the Melody Queen Singing Competition is set for the Uitvlugt Community Centre Ground on February 13.  Entry forms for this contest can be uplifted from the regional office.

The committee said in addition to the contest a ‘Day of Sport’ will be held at the Goed Fortuin Community Centre Ground on January 31 and a Grand Family Fun Day is set for February 21 at Leguan.
