Last Saturday the following children were selected to enter February 13’s preliminary round: Brandon Baichoo, Gabrielle Cummings, Audley Lyte, Kevon Lewis, Shemuel King, Marcia Persaud, Cassidy Lall, Sarah Orola, Taiesha Cox, Vijaya Panday and Gem Walker. These contestants will be competing for four spots to enter the quarterfinals.
According to the release the children are judged on criteria including the use of the stage, posture and diction. A panel of judges can give each performer a total of 80 points; the audience at KidStage can assign a total of 10 points and the public is encouraged to text the performer’s number to telephone number 620-kids, that is 620-5437 and can assign a total of 10 points.
The release said the workshop has been discovering new and talented Guyanese children during its auditions where children from ages four to 14 are given the opportunity to display their talent in song, drama or dance.
