Man remanded after throwing pepper sauce on his wife

A movie vendor yesterday pleaded guilty with an explanation to unlawfully assaulting his wife and was remanded to prison when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Roy Alli, 61, of Barr Street, Albouystown on February 16 at the same address unlawfully assaulted Pumatie Alli so as to cause her actual bodily harm.

According to Alli he and his wife and her daughter had an argument while he was serving himself some food and had a bottle of pepper sauce in his hand.

He said his wife took the bottle out of his hand and      he chucked her. However, Pumatie said that her husband had come home drunk that day and wanted to light the stove and she objected.

The woman told the court that there was no food in the house and he was going to throw the pepper sauce on her daughter because the girl asked him what he was doing.

Alli ended up throwing the pepper sauce on his wife. She also alleged that he said he was going to chop her.

The frustrated woman told the court, “I tell he one day I gon mek a move and today I do it… Enough is enough!”

Alli is to return to court on March 17 for a  probation report and sentencing.
