Guyana needs another radio station

NCN should be cognizant of the rapid changes taking place in the world. Simply put, I have an iPod, and so NCN cannot suffice where my musical appetite is concerned. My internet also keeps me updated, by the minute too, on all significant events, so NCN’s audience is perpetually diminishing. They should wake up and get real. Radio and television still have openings, and I suggest a dissemination of class, culture, and education via whatever musical programmes they engage in. Thanks to Mr Langhorne, I do get some history and poetry. As regards Mr Deodat, I do enjoy and profit from the Monday to Friday ‘From Word to Word.’ Guyana needs another radio station, and not a sister one in the tradition of the Guyana Chronicle/Times. It must be separate and independent. Honestly, NCN is in such bad shape, I tell people to listen, but not to learn. They should swallow their pride, and call in professionals/experts to do the job, and of course, pay them well. These may even help the nation swallow the agitprop.

Your faithfully,
Shane Rizwan
