Nigel’s Supermarket yesterday made a substantial contribution of over half a million dollars to the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) to aid their participation in the Pre Cadet Caribbean Table Tennis Championships and the Caribbean Table Tennis Championships for Junior and Cadet in Utuado, Puerto Rico.
The GTTA has already sent a representative team from Guyana for the Pre Cadet Championships which began on March 27 and will conclude on April 2.
A second team will leave on Friday for the Junior and Cadet championships which will run from April 2 – April 8. Assistant secretary of the GTTA, Linden Johnson received the donation on behalf of the association and stated “I’m happy that Nigel’s can come on board at such a critical time and make a contribution towards getting the team up for the championships. I would like to thank Nigel’s for making the effort to come forward with this contribution and making our trip to Puerto Rico possible.”
He added that Nigel’s donates to the GTTA on a regular basis as they are always willing to contribute.
