Dear Editor,
We are happy to read about the Minister of Education’s commitment to enforce compliance with the law requiring that all children of a certain age attend school. (Stabroek News, Wednesday, April 21).
Our question is whether the Minister of Education and the Schools Welfare Division are also ensuring that these “truants” are being taught at their level in school, or is the ministry concerned only to keep them off the streets?
