A perusal of the comments on your website about articles/letters on the tragic death of young Kelvin Fraser has revealed that quite a few persons advised that running from the Police is a bad idea.

Under normal circumstances, I accept that this the best advice that anyone can give, but I wish to try to put myself in young Kelvin’s shoes, and since he is unable to share his side of the story, try with my interpretation of the accounts reported in the media at large, to explain why he thought running was the best course of action.

A precis of the eyewitness accounts should read that the Police arrived at the scene, fairly well armed, entered the compound and allegedly commenced ‘beating’ students/persons who were not wearing uniforms. They allegedly caught one young man and for whatever unfathomable reason, found it necessary to bang his head against a vehicle, creating a wound.

Now, you are a sixteen-year-old schoolboy who went to school to see your girlfriend in ‘civilian’ clothing when this raid for ‘outsiders’ commences.

What would you do?
