A suspect who had turned himself in after being sought in the robbery of the Betsy Ground, East Canje businessman was released from police custody yesterday.
Bhojnarine `Duck’ Ramkissoon, 27, had surrendered at the Reliance Station on Thursday in the company of his lawyer, Charrandass Persaud.
Police sources told this newspaper that they are “still investigating him”. Thye said charges could be laid providing that persons come forward with information.
Ramkissoon was released after the 72-hour incarceration period had ended.
His alleged accomplice, ‘Blacks’, is still on the run.
The two allegedly robbed Maurice ‘Bayee’ Sookraj, 58, around 7.30 am on Monday last of cash, jewellery and other articles.
