Dear Editor,
Would someone acquaint me why is it that only two races in Guyana are classified – Indian Guyanese and African Guyanese? I cannot recall ever hearing or reading say, about Portu-guese, Chinese or Amerindian Guyanese.
It is this self stereotyping of ourselves that has contributed to the two races having tunnel vision, especially at election time. A Trinidadian is a Trini. And I recall that at pre-Indepen-dence we were all classified as Guyanese.
