Mahaica man stabbed, robbed on Brickdam

A 45-year-old man is presently seeking treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after he was stabbed during a robbery on Monday evening.

According to a release from the police, an investigation is on-going into an armed robbery which occurred at about 10 pm on Monday on Brickdam during which Orin Bacchus of Jonestown, Mahaica, was stabbed by the perpetrator.

Investigations revealed that Bacchus was walking along Brickdam when he was confronted by the man who was armed with a knife. The man took away his cell phone and $7500 and during a scuffle between the two, Bacchus was stabbed to his chest and abdomen.
