A man accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl was yesterday granted bail in the sum of $75,000.
Damion De Freitas, 30, an AC technician, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Alan Wilson at the George-town Magistrates’ Court.
The allegation is that on April 27, at Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, he had carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old girl.
Attorney Vic Puran, who represented De Freitas, made an application for his client to be admitted to reasonable bail. The prosecution had no objection to the bail application made by the attorney.
De Freitas was later placed on bail and ordered to return to court 10 on August 16.
