Danjou Road collapsed drain not constructed by B&J Civil Works

Dear Editor,

I refer to the article found on page 2, Sunday Stabroek, August 8, 2010, captioned ‘$33M Linden drainage network collapsing less than three weeks after completion,’ and the front page photo of your Monday, August 9 edition, showing a collapsed drain on Danjou Road. I wish to inform you that the collapsed drain was not constructed by B&J Civil Works.

The culvert on Burnham Drive and Danjou Alley was constructed by B&J Civil Works under the contract ‘Rehabilitation of Culverts & Roads, Mackenzie and Wismar Business District.’ These works were completed in June of 2010.

I shall be grateful for the publication which corrects this misinformation and you may wish to enquire from the Regional Democratic Coun-cil, Region # 10, the particulars of the contract under which the collapsed drain was built.

Yours faithfully,
Beverly Tapp
Manager
B&J Civil Works
