Consultancy for four-lane to Timehri cleared

Cabinet has announced its no-objection to four contracts including one for the design consultancy for the extension of the East Bank Public Road four-lane highway up to Timehri at a cost of US$672,000.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr Roger Luncheon yesterday also announced that cabinet had offered its no-objection to US$1 million for the purchase of ammunition for the Guyana Defence Force (GDF).

In the public works sector, no objection was given to $59.8 million for the construction of 125 metres of rip-rap river defences in La Bagatelle and Leguan in Region 3.  Luncheon said too that over US$74,000 was given the go ahead for the purchase of transmitter spares and an antenna for the National Communications Network (NCN).
