Dear Editor,
If there are any, this is the time for decent gentlemen all over Guyana to form groups to counter the alarming cases of brutality and murder against women by spineless, insecure, very ignorant men.
Surely, it would be easy to present radio and television programmes counselling men on how to relate to women (and such could be helpful), but face-to-face meetings may be more powerful. Groups of decent gentlemen, sickened by the shameful violence against women, should go in person to turn the bloody tide. Their voices must be heard not only in buildings, but also on the streets. The good men must rail against bad men, but also teach them how to respect, love and honour women. The good men may sound like preachers, but that may be necessary. And they should preach to boys, young men and old men!
