GPL makes donations for community development

The Guyana Power and Light (GPL) on Tuesday made substantial donations to several organisations to help them to enhance their infrastructure.

According to a press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) donations were made to the Guyana Police Force, Guyenterprise, Theatre Guild, the Guyana Karate College, Stabroek Warriors Football Club, Queenstown Nursery and Primary schools and the Sparta and Nunes primary schools in Essequibo Islands/West Demerara, Region Three.

GPL Chief Executive Officer Bharrat Dindyal said that over the years the company has made contributions to communities and will continue this practice to aid development. He also said that corporate Guyana needs to play a role in driving development and as GPL expands he hopes more persons can benefit from donations.
GINA said the recipients were grateful for the donations.
