Warriors remain unbeaten with handsome win

PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa, CMC – South Africa’s Warriors pulled off their second win of the Champions League Twenty20 when they beat Victoria Bushrangers by 28 runs yesterday.

Playing at St George’s Park, Warriors chalked up 158 for six off their allotted overs after opting to bat first before restricting the Australian side to 130 for nine.
The victory put the Warriors on top of Group A with four points after their shock win over Mumbai in the tournament opener last week.

Captain Davey Jacobs gave his side a superb start, cracking 59 from 39 balls with nine fours and a six in posting 81 for the first wicket with Ashwell Prince (16).
Test wicketkeeper Mark Boucher struck 31 from 28 balls while Johan Bothan got 20 from 14 balls to keep the innings alive.

Victoria then seemed poised to make a run at the total at 94 for three in the 14th over but David Hussey fell for 25 and Andrew McDonald, 19, as the Australians slumped in the latter part of their innings.

Pacer Rusty Theron claimed three for 22 while discarded Test pacer Makhaya Ntini picked up two for 34.
