At last the swimming pool has made the news. From all available evidence this is another misuse of taxpayers’ money.
Could the responsible Cabinet member answer the following?
1. How was Kares Engineering Inc (whose manager/owner hails from the West Demerara) awarded the contract?
2. At the time what was the contract sum?
3. Who provided the engineer’s estimate and what was it?
4. What experience does Kares have?
5. Who or which group is now completing this pool?
6. Who is supervising the work to ensure quality?
7. What sum is being paid to the contractor for completing the project?
As a citizen and a member of the swimming club fraternity, I request truthful answers. I believe we are entitled to such.
