Promising pacer St Clair called up

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Selectors here have called up young fast bowler Daniel St. Clair to a 33-man squad which will prepare for next month’s regional limited overs championship.

Convenor of selectors Dudnath Ramkessoon said the 22-year-old St. Clair, who represents the University of Trinidad and Tobago, was an exciting prospect with a good future ahead of him.

“St. Clair is a talented left arm quickie and bowls pretty fast,” Ramkessoon noted.

“We wanted to get him involved in the trials and give him a chance to show what he has. We are looking for the best possible team to defend the regional 50 overs title.”

Also included in the squad are marquee West Indies players Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Denesh Ganga.

The squad has already begun training at the National Cricket Centre and will play its first trial match this weekend at the same venue.

Jamaica will play host the regional tournament from October 14-24.
