‘Tundra’ runs over Leguan six-year-old

A six-year-old girl was last night admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital after being run over by a ‘Tundra’ at Legaun.

Sasha Singh of Clairmont, Legaun was rushed to the city last evening via speedboat after her parents realised that there was nothing that could be done for her medically on the island.

Her father, Paul Singh, said she was riding her bicycle on the road around 5.30 pm when the incident occurred.

“She riding she bicycle on the correct side of the road and a boy come in a Tundra and hit she down and when he hit she down he drive away and she say dat how he ain’t hit she dat she fall down jus suh,” Singh related.

He added that the child was complaining about belly and back pains and had been spitting up blood.

Singh said the police obtained from witnesses that the vehicle did run over the child and the man was taken into custody.
