Publish auditor’s certificate instead of lotto winners’ names

Dear Editor,

A few days ago you published a letter from a contributor suggesting that the Lotto company should publish the names of the winners to give credibility to the drawings.

I wish to disagree with the writer, as there is a genuine reason for not disclosing the winners which is linked to the crime situation. It would be a recipe for inviting disaster on the winners.

May I suggest instead that an auditor’s certificate be published in lieu of the winners’ names and the amounts  paid.
Yours faithfully,
