National Park scissors robber grabbed man’s iPod – court hears

A man who was allegedly armed with a pair of scissors and robbed another of his iPod at the National Park was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before acting Chief Magis-trate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation is that on October 1 at Georgetown, being armed with a pair of scissors Akeem Cross of 122 Third Street, Alberttown robbed Michael Thomas of one iPod valued $20,000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor Lionel Harvey told the court that on the day in question the virtual complainant who was in the National Park was accosted by the accused who placed a scissors to his side and demanded the iPod.

Cross was later remanded to prison. His matter was transferred to Court Five for October 7.
