Two armed bandits pretending to be job seekers robbed unsuspecting construction workers at Schoonord backdam, West Bank Demerara yesterday afternoon.
A senior police officer told Stabroek News that sometime before 1pm, two men went to the new housing scheme which is under construction inquiring about jobs.
One of the men subsequently brandished a gun and relieved a man of $60, 000.
Other workers were also robbed of cash and valuables, the police officials said.
Up to yesterday afternoon, police in ‘D’ Division were still looking for the men.
