PNCR expresses condolence on passing of Barbados Prime Minister

The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) has expressed its condolence on the sad passing yesterday of the Prime Minister of Barbados David John Howard Thompson.

The PNCR’s message of condolence yesterday was directed to the Prime Minister’s wife, Mara, his three children (Misha, Oya and Osa), his mother, Margaret Knight, the other members of his family, relatives, friends, members of his Cabinet, the Democratic Labour Party (DLP), and all of the people of Barbados, the main opposition party said in a press release. Thompson, who has Guyanese roots, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer for which he had been undergoing treatment for the past several months.

His wife and three children were at his bedside when he passed away. He was 48 years old.

He was responsible for the Single Market and Economy in the quasi-cabinet of Caricom, the release added.
