The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) yesterday said that a fire which occurred during routine repairs to the engine of the GDFS Hymeralli was contained in the vessel’s stern area.
It said that swift action yesterday by the duty fire party limited the damage to the vessel.
One technician suffered minor burns and was treated at the medical centre at Base Camp Ayanganna, the army said.
