Odeen Ishmael to be ambassador to Kuwait

The Guyana Government has received the agreement of Kuwait for Dr Odeen Ishmael CCH to be appointed as Ambassador to Kuwait.

This was announced yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ishmael served in Washington from June, 1993 to October, 2003 and was appointed as Ambassador to Venezuela in November, 2003 where he is currently serving. He is expected to take up his appointment in Kuwait shortly, the release said.

Guyana and Kuwait established diplomatic relations on August 17, 1995.
The appointment will open a vacancy in the important Caracas mission.
