Accused cutlass bandits remanded over Anna Regina robbery

Two men, who are accused of using a chopper to rob a man of a quantity of gold jewellery and other items valued a total $2.6M, were on Tuesday remanded to prison by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

The allegation against Dwayne Stoby and Dellon Garraway is that on December 11, at Benson Street, Anna Regina, being armed with a chopper, they robbed Badwattie Ramkissoon of a quantity of jewellery, wristwatches, calculators and cell phones, valued $2.6M in total.

Stoby and Garraway denied the allegation of robbery under arms.

The prosecution requested that the men be remanded to prison, citing the prevalence of the offence. The magistrate subsequently informed the men that they would be denied bail and the case was transferred to the Anna Regina Magistrates’ Court for January 4.
