Lallchand remanded over armed robbery, firearm and narcotics offences

Aman Lallchand was not required to plead to the robbery under arms charges. It is alleged that Lallchand while being armed with a gun robbed Troy Collins on March 1 of one diamond chain and other gold jewellery worth a total value of $1.4 million.

Lallchand’s age was given as 29 years and his address as Howes Street, Charlestown.

On March 2 it is alleged that he robbed Tonica Persaud of one cell phone valued $28,000. On the same day he reportedly robbed Duane London of one gold chain, a gold and diamond chain valued $1.4 million, rings and a cell phone valued $30,000, all worth a total value of $2.1 million.

He later allegedly robbed Shondel Cheddie of one gold chain and a gold and diamond chain among other jewellery and $10,000, a total value of $740,000 on the same day.

Lallchand also allegedly being armed with a gun robbed Maxwell Thom on December 4 of 2 LG computer monitors valued $120,000, and two digital recorders valued $600,000 and $200,000 among other items worth a total of $920,000.

He was remanded to prison until March 23 on the indictable charges of robbery under arms.

Meanwhile, Lallchand pleaded not guilty to having in his possession six live rounds of ammunition and a revolver on March 6 when he was not the holder of a firearm licence. He also pleaded not guilty to having in his possession 67 grammes of cannabis on the same day.

He was further remanded to jail and is to return to court on June 16 on these charges.
