‘Bull Eye’ shot, recaptured

The police acting on information received shot and captured Mazaruni Prison escapee, Neville Williams called `Bull Eye’ on Friday afternoon.

Williams who was serving a three-year sentence for break and enter and larceny prior to his June 21 escape had attacked one of the ranks who responded to the report, police said in a press release yesterday.

According to the release, around 17:30 hrs police received information that the escapee was in a yard at Better Success, Essequibo Coast.

Ranks responded and during efforts to arrest him, Williams “attacked one of the ranks with a knife which caused the rank to resort to the use of force and he was shot and wounded to his upper left thigh.” He has been admitted  as a patient under guard at the Suddie Hospital, the release added.

The 36-year-old Williams escaped while working on the stock farm along with other prisoners.
