Local football referees will attend a training programme tomorrow geared at bringing officials up to date with the rules of the game and ways of handling infringements.
The programme has been organized by Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) ahead of next month’s Fitness Run.
The training session will take place at Hooters Bar at Hardina Street starting at 10:30 hours.
Referees are expected from Linden, Berbice, West Demerara, East Demerara, Bartica, East Bank Demerara and Georgetown.
Course Coordinator, Roy Mc Arthur disclosed there will be presentations on serious foul play, violent conduct, deliberate handball, players’ equipment and analysis of match incident.
Presentations will be made by McArthur and Lawrence “Sparrow” Griffith, two of the country’s leading referee assessors who recently attended a FUTURO 111 Referees’ Course in Jamaica.
