Canadian police hunting man with Guyanese accent in home invasion

(ctvtoronto.ca) York police have released the description of two suspects in a recent home invasion where a woman was allegedly held in her home at knife-point.

Police say the 52-year-old woman opened her door on Tuesday afternoon, at which point two males forced their way inside her home.

Two other males also entered the house and helped in the robbery.

Two of the assailants ransacked the home, while the other two kept watch over the woman.

Police say the suspects fled the scene and the woman was not injured.

On Thursday morning, police released descriptions of two of the suspects.

The first suspect is described as a five-foot-five brown male with a medium build who is believed to be about 32 years old. He had a Guyanese accent and wore dark clothing, as well as a black hat and a black scarf that covered his mouth.

The second suspect is described as a man in his 30s with dark brown skin. He was six feet tall with a medium build and weighed about 200 pounds. He, too, had a black hat, dark clothing and a black scarf that covered his mouth. He also wore white shoes.

Both males were armed with black-handled knives with silver blades.

York police Sgt. Gary Phillips confirmed to ctvtoronto.ca that no descriptions are available of the remaining suspects at the moment.

He said police are still investigating to determine what was actually taken in the incident.
