Bandits ram car, grab $2M from woman

Armed bandits on Friday morning snatched more that $2 million from a Campbellville businesswoman after wilfully slamming into the back of the car she was travelling in.

Stabroek News understands that the two men trailed the woman from a city bank to Eping Avenue, Bel Air. As the car she was travelling in slowed near a speed bump, the bandits slammed into the back of her car.

When the driver came up to access the damage, one of the bandits went up to the businesswoman and slapped her before removed a black haversack which contained $2.5 million along with  US$917, which is equivalent to $183,400. They then fled.

Their getaway car, an AT 192 Carina bearing number plate HB 2030 was later found abandoned on Well Road, West Ruimveldt. The empty black haversack was inside.

Police are continuing investigations.
