Overseas-based Guyanese heart surgeon on local outreach

Guyanese-born Dr Kishan Narine is currently visiting Guyana on an outreach of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (CGAGS) with support from the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, a press release stated.

While in Guyana, Dr Narine will be participating in the training of Guyanese residents in a CGAGS partnership with the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. He will also be visiting the facilities of that hospital as well as the Caribbean Heart Institute, with a view to exploring initiatives to further improve all aspects of cardiac care in the country.

Dr Narine, who hails from Port Mourant, Berbice is an internationally recognised expert in heart failure and heart valve surgery. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer reviewed publications, the release noted.
