BEV employees robbed of over $4M

The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 2.30 pm today at BEV Fisheries at Houston Estate, Georgetown, during which accountant Michael Vieira, 30 years of Houston Estate, Georgetown, and labourer Richie Sahadeo, 35 years of Better Hope South, ECD, were attacked and robbed by three men, two of whom armed with handguns.

Police say that investigations revealed that Vieira and Sahadeo were in the Accounts Office when the men entered and held them at gunpoint.  Sahadeo was robbed of $70,000 while Vieira was robbed of $4 million.

During the process Sahadeo was beaten about his body and shot to his knee by one of the perpetrators, after which they escaped in a waiting motor car.

Sahadeo has been admitted to a private hospital.  His condition is stable, police said.
