Squash association names junior championships squad

The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) has named its training squad for the Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Junior Championships in July
.
Training will be conducted five times per week and will entail court training with Coach Carl Ince while endurance and fitness training will be supervised parents and captains Deje Dias and Ashley Khalil. The endurance programme will be held in the National Park.

The GSA has also named a development squad with the aim of enhancing the younger players’ skill level. They will also have a chance to be selected for the national squad when they are older. This aspect of the training will be led by Dias and Lydia Fraser.

Championship squad: Under-13B: Ben Mekdeci and Patrick Fraser; U-13G: Lydia Alphonso, Rebecca Low and Savannah Mendes; U-15B: Nyron Joseph and Alec Melvile; U-15G: Akeila Wiltshire, Larissa Wiltshire, Gabby Fraser and Taylor Fernandes; U-17B: Jason-Ray Khalil, Steven Xavier, Jean Claude Jeffrey and Ian Mekdeci; U-17G: Victoria Arjoon; U-19B: Deje Dias, Alex Arjoon and Joven Benn; U-19G: Ashley Khalil, Keisha Jeffrey, Kayla Jeffrey, Mary Fung-A-Fat, Ashley DeGroot and Alysa Xavier.

Development squad: Alexandra Phang, Matthew Phang, John Phang, Alex Cheeks, Riasoya Jodah, Mariah Low, Shamari Wiltshire, Lisa Persaud and Andrew Peroune.
