Too much running around in the licence office

Dear Editor,

Doing any transaction at the licence office is really stressful; there is no system in place, and years come and go, but the office gets worse to deal with. Anyone coming from Berbice or Essequibo cannot get a simple transfer done. Everything is done in Georgetown, and registering a vehicle sometimes takes two weeks with having to run there every day. Why can’t the government get separate offices for the different transactions, and put a system in place to allow business to be done in a day. In addition, there should be a GRA office in each area.

People pay so much money in customs duties, and yet they get too much running around at Customs House and in the licence office.

The licence office does not even have proper parking to accommodate lots of vehicles.

Yours faithfully,
