Baugh replaces ill Thomas in ODI squad

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Jamaican wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh has been called up to the West Indies one-day squad to face Pakistan after Devon Thomas was forced out with illness.

The 21-year-old Thomas, who kept wicket in the just concluded World Cup, has been diagnosed with chicken pox, the West Indies Cricket Board said yesterday.

Ironically, Thomas was called up to the Windies squad in February after Baugh became injured.

Baugh, who has played eight Tests and 33 One-Day Internationals, will now join the on-going camp in Barbados in preparation for the five-match series starting in St Lucia later this week.

Thomas, meanwhile, has returned to his native Antigua.
West Indies face Pakistan in the lone Twenty20 International on Thursday before playing the first of two ODIs in St Lucia starting next Saturday.

SQUAD – Darren Sammy (captain), Dwayne Bravo , Carlton Baugh, Devendra Bishoo, Darren Bravo, Kirk Edwards, Anthony Martin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Devon Smith.
