Man charged with attempting to poison employer

A man, who declined to make an application for bail, was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton after he was charged with attempting to poison his employer.

The allegation against Colin Gokhul is that on April 10 at Loo Creek on the Linden Highway he unlawfully and maliciously attempted to administer a poisonous substance to Ramgopaul Tejowah, so as to cause grievous bodily harm to the said Ramgopaul Tejowah.

As the defendant declined to make a bail application, he was remanded until May 3 when he will appear at the Christianburg Magistrates’ Court.
